《sonnet 60》海浪不斷侵蝕岸邊，陽光亦會侵蝕人類的榮光；詩人透過種種具象的譬喻，表達時間給予世人的，時間亦會取走一切。面對時間無以阻擋的破壞力，惟有詩歌得以保存一切。

《sonnet 61》詩人輾轉難眠，全出自於妒忌之心；詩人首先譴責這樣的痛苦，是來自對少年的愛，但仍自知這一切是自找苦吃，自願成為愛的囚徒。
