《sonnet 68》時間待眾生平等，也將在少年的容貌留下鑿痕了。然而，詩人視少年的美為美的原型，其存在早於人類對美的追求；詩人認為真正的美，無需盛夏的蓊鬱來襯托，更無需善如流。

《sonnet 69》當世人齊聲頌揚少年的美，也將以同等標準衡量少年的純真與內在，意謂著美與善的等重。詩人叮嚀少年，應注重言行舉止，否則將會成為庸俗之輩，內在的精神無法匹配少年自身的美。
