《sonnet 96》少年因年輕氣盛，引來批評，也引來讚美，無論哪一種，都因為少年的美，而成為焦點。戴上假面具的狼，能夠誘騙更多羊群；若少年不真誠，照樣能吸引更多愛慕者。但詩人祈求，少年永保真誠，詩人也將永遠誠心相待。

《sonnet 97》與少年離別後，一切如冬日降臨；夏日的時光與盛季的豐收，都隨著少年的離去，而逐漸失色，萬物亦寂靜，若萬物出聲，聽起來也是悲傷的。此詩藉由季節的變化，表示詩人與少年已漸行漸遠，心境淒涼。
