《sonnet 122》筆記本記錄著詩人對少年的情感，存在詩人的腦海，深藏在記憶，直到永遠。筆記本卻也時時提醒著詩人，當他盡力去記憶少年，意味著失去少年本身，對詩人而言，產生了多麼重大的影響，使他依然無法忘懷。

《sonnet 123》在時間面前，人生而渺小，正因如此，人類往往對於古老的事物產生崇拜之心。但詩人認為，他的誓言更經得起時間的考驗，若是真誠的，就不需在意時間的鐮刀揮來，也不需要追逐和迷戀時間所累積的事物，因為當下即是永恆。
