《sonnet 144》善與惡，好與壞，如同天使與惡魔，亦如同詩人周旋於兩個愛人之間，無論哪一個，都讓詩人陷入膠著的情緒。由於兩者都來自於詩人自身的情感，因此詩人無法區分究竟誰是善惡，如同陷入三角關係裡，眼前迷霧，無法看穿。

《sonnet 145》詩人曾遭愛人惡言相向，痛苦無比。然而，當詩人陷入愛的泥沼，愛人卻又施捨憐憫。愛人的一言一行，都影響著詩人的感受，若愛人不再行惡言，詩人便如重獲新生。
