《sonnet 148》一但有了愛情的濾鏡，眼前的景象便難以分辨真假，詩人探討眼睛所看見的，究竟由理性還是感性所決定。愛情使人失去判斷力，詩人最終仍臣服於如此情況，因愛人的淚水，總是使詩人掉入陷阱。

《sonnet 149》愛已使人盲目，使人成為暴君，忘記自己的準則，不顧對方的缺陷，只為去愛。當愛人質疑詩人愛得多寡，詩人僅能持續奉獻，只因如今詩人明白，自己已無法自拔。
